Don’t be fooled by it’s simple cover. This book has more than it hides. Coming in as number 5, Want by Gillian Anderson, is a book I never thought I would ever read. This isn’t because I thought I was never going to get around to it. No. It is because of the contents inside.
This book was put together so that non-men identifying people could express their deepest fantasy when it comes to sex. All the stories are submitted anonymously, and they were put together by Gillian Anderson.
You get stories from, I just want to cuddle with my partner and making good feeling love, to being invited to a sex club in a foreign country. There were so many categories that each story had been sorted into, with all of them starting off with Anderson explaining what you were going to find next.
For the most part, I thought this was a really cool concept. I really enjoyed listening to people stories about what they desire.
I think my favorite park about this book was the fact that I listened to it as an audiobook versus reading it physically. When you listen to the audiobook on Libby, you get to hear different voices reading back to you. They got multiply different sounding girls, from their accents to their age. I think it made the whole experience better because it actually sounded like you were hearing each story from a different person. I definitely think I would have enjoyed the book less if I was the one reading it.
Something I also really liked about this book is how much it made me think about myself. I found myself agreeing and relating to many different people and their fantasies. There were even times that I was also feeling the heat myself. It’s always nice learning that you are not alone in your experiences and that it is no weird or abnormal for you to enjoy and like certain things. There is most likely someone out that who also enjoys it as well. Anyway, that’s all for today. Happy Readings!
