Frigid 3/16/26

Frigid by J. Lynn was my 10th book of the year. This book is the first book I have borrowed from a friend, so that was a fun experience. Normally I just listen to my books from Libby or I read the ones I own. It has been a bit since I have read a romance so I was so excited for this.

Frigid is about Sydney, a girl who is in love with her best friend, but won’t ever tell him because he isn’t the “boyfriend” type. While Kyler is the best friend in question, who is equally in love with Sydney, but doesn’t believe that he will ever be good enough for her. It isn’t till they are trapped by a snow storm that there feelings become to “hot to handle”.  But can they handle each other and the stalker roaming about.

This book does have spice, I will say that now, so if that is something you enjoy then I highly recommend. There is tons of tension throughout the story, mainly because they are so in love but don’t know how to talk it out. Speaking of talk it out, the miscommunication trope is high in this book, so be prepared for that. I plan to read the second one, one day. Just not for a bit.

I won’t lie, I did enjoy this book. The writing was well done and the concept is there, but it felt like the plot was just them getting into it with each other. And don’t get me wrong, I love some good spice, give me things that make me blush and want more, but when you add the other element to the book, the stalker, it was such a small point. I was so excited to see what their love for each other was going to do when they were in danger, but that rarely happened.

Most of the story was just about them trying to fuck each other before they confessed, fucking each other after they confessed, and then falling apart when Sydney hears one thing and Kyler lies about another. They were a total mess. I will say, trying to figure out who the stalker was going to be was fun, until it became very obvious. And the characters for the life of them did little to nothing to help their situation. Something would happen, they would panic, then investigate, then flirt, and then they would fuck. And that cycle was on repeat for most of the book.

It wasn’t a bad book, I was hoping for more but that is fine. I don’t think I would read it again, but I would be down to read more by J. Lynn. Anyway, that’s it for this moment, I will be back with another! Happy Readings!
